I started to translate books. I started out as a easy reading book for children.
pg. 1
A dawn broke up.
"COCKLE-DOODLE-DOO"
Outstretching, a rooster crowed.
"AHHH~ Had a good sleep."
Stretching his arms, Mr. Farm woke up.
pg.2
"Let's go to the field."
He went to the barn.
"Giddy Up! Giddy Up!"
"Mooo~"
Taking his cow, he went to the field.
"BOWWOW. BOWWOW."
Wagging his tail, the dog followed them as well.
"You'd better guard the house."
Looking at this dog, Mr. Farm said.
Comment:
On my first day, I only translated 2 pages.
As I skimmed through the story, I realized I need to express sufficient amount of Korean traditions. As you can see, the story takes place in a small countryside.
It was hard to find suitable words to fit into the background.
I shortened the sentence to follow orginal author's unique way.
Also, looking at many example sentences helped me alot.
Knowdest capitalizing in certain phrases may allow readers to have strong impact on the lines.
